About Dan O’Neill
Dan O’Neill was born in St. Louis and grew up in University City. At 15, he lied about his age and got a job as a busboy at the Arena Club, during the formative years of the St. Louis Blues franchise. O’Neill attended the University of Missouri School of Journalism and spent 32 years as a feature writer/columnist at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he spent time on all of the major beats, including, including Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey and golf. O’Neill has contributed to national magazines such as Sports Illustrated, Sporting News, Golfweek and USGA Journal and worked as consultant for FOX Sports. He has won AP and GWAA awards for feature stories and columns and is a recipient of the Missouri Athletic Club’s Burnes/Broeg Award.
